I reuse the Scrapbooking Workshop instructions many times past the original workshop collection. This is another example of my doing that as I have so many scraps that I want to use. That is my current focus. While I have listed in the Product List clickable links at the end of this post the current cardstock and DSP packages as I wanted there to be reference of the actual products used in case you want to follow along and don't have the scraps.
For my 2-page layout I decided on "Wood Textured DSP" for the bases. You can color these with any of our inks and I decided on Smoky Slate. So, while a little time consuming take your blender brush and chosen ink pad and begin. I also started by tapping my blender brush a couple times on my mat and then either coming in with my blending brush to begin from an outer edge OR beginning in the middle of the page OR wherever those dabs those dabs will be covered by DSP, CS or photos. If you haven't tried this Specialty DSP please consider it. I love working with it and have found it is less time consuming with darker colors or if you are wanting a lighter look and are using a lighter ink color.
This is layout #1 from the Weekend Adventures workshop. I did make some changes but followed the design the best I could. I also used a couple of CTMH stamp sets as well as a set of the Dies from one of their last Virtual Retreats. I spent several years purchasing from that company and have kept just a very small number of stamp sets & dies from their Virtual Retreats. And, an FYI - if you post to my FB page or message me with your project photo to post as a main post for you please know I am more than OK with you incorporating elements of retired products or CTMH products mixed in with current Stampin' Up! products.
My photos are different in size than what the workshop instructions note. Mine are 3"x3" photos with the mats being 3.5"x3.5". I am posting on the cut/layout image below what the workshop notes but I have found that I rarely have the same size photos they note in the workshops. I have noted the original size on the diagram I am posting near the end of this post.
