Northern Lights Blending ...

We were blessed to be able to catch the Aurora Borealis, aka Northern Lights, one evening.

I knew I wanted to create my own base page for my scrapbook by blending inks.  I did apply several layers of Highland Heather to get it a bit darker and was very careful with how much Melon Mambo I had on my blending brush.  I did dab several times on my glass mat and brought onto the cardstock from the glass.

I also used the Light & Wonder Dies #165762 (Last Chance) for the bottom, as that is pretty much what we saw here in Michigan that evening. These dies do fit on the Mini Stampin' Cut Emboss Machine, so no worries if you don't have the larger one.

Also used Textures Notes Dies for stamping & with sponge daubers inked the border on all 4 sides with Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' ink pad. I masked the borders for inking using Post-it Labeling & Cover-up Tape.  The stickiness on these is just enough to hold things in place (I also use to secure my dies for die cutting) but not so sticky that it will tear your DSP or cardstock. I bought this on Amazon. It also is available in ⅓" x 700" (19.4 yds).

I had to use a product we do not carry as I wanted to splatter the pages to make it a "starry" sky which was Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleedproof White Fine Art Paint.  Diluted with a small dab in a container adding a decent amount of water to make it quite runny and splattered with an old toothbrush.

Lemon Lolly is used for the photo mats. I did want to do something to break up the Lemon Lolly photo matting so I embossed with Dotted Circles Embossing Folder which I would like to add wasn't the best choice as I did struggle to get a good adhesion. But, I do love this embossing folder.

I decided on Black Solid Core for the bottom die cuts. Then went for another layer using Earthen Tone Metallic Specialty Paper and elevated with Black Dimensionals.

Aurora Borealis was cut using my Silhouette Cameo 4 with Gorgeous Grape cardstock & Earthen Tone Metallic Specialty Paper for the Offset.

Not posting the sketch as this layout is all about blending inks and placing the photos.  We all have different photo sizes so you will cut your mats to your desired size and border.

Please reach out if you have any question as I am always happy to help.  Don't know about you but I love everything there is with blending & coloring.

If you have Northern Lights photos & create a layout please consider posting in the comments on my Facebook page, OR reach out to me & I will make your layout a main post.  Again, currently only I can make a main post as my group is public with the hopes of one day having enough followers to make it Private, which will allow everyone to post on their own.  Thank you for understanding.

Happy creating,

Floral Charm Meets Disney World Halloween ...

Used several Stampin' Up! products along with my Cricut Maker & some fun paste from Ranger to create this 2-page layout.  I am so far behind in our Disney albums so yes, this is Halloween!!

Here is the recipe for the 2 pages and while I posted my photo mat size below, your photos may be sized differently. I never cut my photo mats right away unless I have the photos I am using on the layout on my desk.  Even when using a Scrapbook Workshop Guide, I don't pre-cut the photo mats noted in the guide. My photos seem to always be different sizes!

I used my Cricut Maker & Stampin' Up! cardstock for the 3-layer pumpkins and the title. Spiders are from some black glitter cardstock scraps I had in my stash also cut on my Cricut Maker.  I don't have dies for pumpkins or spiders so Cricut Maker came into play.

I will place a small journaling card under the title with a very brief description for this project as it really is self-explanatory. Not much to say on this in journaling.

The stem (or the "Peduncle") was created using the Ranger Lunar Paste - Fake Plant and dabbed for a textured look. Purchased from Amazon.

I loved using Floral Charm DSP for some of cuts and also Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper.  I decided on Earthen Tone Metallic before considering it had to be torn for the look I wanted.  It does not tear or at least did not for me. So, I used my Snips to achieve a similar look of torn paper.

If you create this layout, whether one or both pages, please consider posting it in my Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/creatingwithtina  in the Comments under the the posted photo you will see matching the one at the top of this blog post.

Happy creating,

Scrapbook Layout Jan 6th - Fun with Stencils ...

Hi everyone,
I used an older Stampin' Up!™ stencil (Mask) on the White Willow base pages with Gray Granite ink blending.  Left page I stenciled all the edges but on the right page I decided to change it a little and only stenciled here and there.  My focus was to attempt to have a stenciled design similar to the EPCOT ball.

I fussy cut the beverage glasses from my DSP package of Celebratory Sips 12"x12" DSP.  The small silver foil "bursts" on the left page are dies from Boardwalk Fun Die set #166828 & I will add a link to this die set at the end of post.

I also used a lot of scraps for my characters and the foil bursts.  I have listed the cardstock & DSP used for this at the end of the post.

The fireworks I added to the right page are from a stencil I cut using my Silhouette Cameo 4 & our Window Sheets. I then used Solar Paste - Golden Hour & our Palette Knives.

I did add my Minnie Mouse & Pluto as they are in the larger photo with us using Dimensionals.  If you are out of the Mini Dimensionals just cut the larger one in half.  Minnie is from a die set I have from another company & Pluto was cut using my Silhouette Cameo 4.  I think so many of us have cutting machines such as Silhouette, Cricut, Siser, etc so why not add some fun stuff to the layouts.

I did "gut" the DSP on the right page as I knew I would be covering the center of it.  I love saving paper & cardstock - especially our DSP.

I have not added my journaling to the layout yet as I tend to do that when I have a few pages completed due to printing my journaling on my printer.

I am posting the sketch below & if you use it please consider posting your layout with or without photos on my Facebook page,  https://www.facebook.com/creatingwithtina & look for the pinned post with this 2 page layout.  If you would like to make your pages a main post please message me with the photos & description.  Again, since my Creating With Tina FB page is currently Public & not Private this is how a main post from someone has to be done.  Once my following builds I will make my FB page Private & you can post yourself.
