Grateful and butterflies ...

Decided to do a couple of appreciation cards this morning.   And, since we are needing a card to send over the Christmas season to a small handful of people of other faiths, this could also serve as a possible template for that purpose. I'll be changing the DSP to something that coincides with our Michigan winters!

I used Very Vanilla for the cardbase and Peach Pie for the mat.  The DSP is Thoughtful Journey which I absolutely love.  The Thoughtful Journey DSP is stunning and so colorful.  The ribbon is also Peach Pie as well as the ink used for the sentiment which is from Layers of Beauty.  Oh, I had to add some butterflies so they are from Brushed Brass Butterflies pack.

Very Vanilla is cut 8.5" x 5.5" and scored at 4.25".
Peach Pie cardstock was cut with largest Deckled Rectangle die.
Sentiment on Very Vanilla was cut with the smallest Deckled Rectangle die and then I lined up the current cut lines to shorten.  To do this I found the place on the right of sentiment and had the die go through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine just far enough to make that right side trim.  Please let me know if you have any questions on this technique.  I also used Dimentionals for the 3 panels and the sentiment.

Christmas in July kinda thing ...

What are you working on?  I have already started my Christmas cards.  I told myself a few days ago I was going to go simply this year.  Something less time consuming as I need to make 40 something!

Well, joke was on m.  I "CASED" a design I found on Pinterest and the fun has begun.  I do need to find the design again to give credit to the original designer though.

Here is a little of my "creativity" situation!  Yes, a lot of die cutting, inking with 3 colors and splattering with another.

More as I make progress but am currently working in "assembly line" mode.

Companion scrapbook page for Citrus Blooms ...

I always have pics of our dining delights when traveling.  And, this is especially true when at Walt Disney World!  Here is the companion page (page 2 layout) using Citrus Blooms Cling Stamp Set and Dies.

While I know some have apprehension using the Cling (red rubber) stamps I will say I love them.  I am one that has to stamp and color 1st and then use the dies.  For me with any stamp set this works perfectly for me.  It is easier for me to line up the dies or punch "after" I have stamped and color if coloring is wanted.

For this 2nd page I used Basic White 12x12 cardstock and placed a piece of Night of Navy cut to 11-¼" x 11-¼" using Stampin' Seal to place on top of the Basic White.

I used only 5 strip for this page as follows and they do touch as shown in the pic:

A ~ 1-½" x 10-½" placed ¾" from top & 2-¼" from left edge of Basic White
B ~ 1-½" x 9" placed 1-½" from top edge of Basic White
C ~ 1-½" x 10" placed 1" from top edge of Basic White
D ~ 1-½" x 9" placed 2" from top edge of Basic White
E ~ 1-½" x 10-½" placed ¾" from top edge of Basic White

E should also be 2-¼" in from the right edge of Basic White cardstock.

All products used are on the previous Blog post which shows the left page of this 2 page layout.

Any questions please reach out to me.

Citrus Blooms Scrapbook Page ...

Finished my Citrus Blooms page for our most recent trip to Disney World.  I had to use this set as ...... well, we are in Florida!!

The title of the page is compliments of my husband.  I told him I was covering his face on the page (only for posting LOL) as a reward for that title!!

I love using alcohol markers and this was the perfect stamp set for me to do that.  I used Multi-purpose liquid glue to the oranges and then Dimensionals to elevate 1 of the oranges.

I used Night of Navy 12x12 cardstock along with Basic White 12x12 cardstock for the main page.

I also used Night of Navy, Basic White and added Basic Beige cardstock for the photo mats.

Then, used Dimensionals to elevate the pictures.

I did use one of the smaller stamps from Citrus Blooms with Balmy Blue Classic Ink on the Basic Beige strips.

The title is Peach Pie as I didn't have enough Pumpkin Pie on hand.  Note to self ~ check inventory now!

There are 7 strips and I labeled by letter the strips L to R for placement.
A ~ 1-½ x 10
B ~1-½ x 9-½
C ~ 1-½ x 10-½
D ~ 1-½ x 9-½
E ~  1-½ x 10
F ~ 1-½ x 9-½
G ~ 1-½ x 10

Using Multi-purpose Liquid Glue place strip A ¾" from edge of Basic White (or your color choice) on Left  and 1-¼" from the top.

The remaining strips will edge up against the previous strip and will be as follows from the top of the Basic White (or your color choice).
B ~ 1-½" from top (left edge against right edge of A)
C ~ ¾" from the top (left edge against right edge of B)
D ~ 1-¼" from the top (left edge against right edge of C and continue this pattern)
E ~ 1" from the top
F ~ 1-¾" from the top
G ~ 1" from the top

Cut photo mats if you choose to use mats to appropriate size for your photos and journaling.  I left about ⅛" around my photos and my journaling mat.

Embellish with Rhinestones or Gems ~ or whatever you wish to use.

If you choose to make this layout I would love to see your creation posted on my Facebook page.  The link is on the right.  You can find it with #CitrusBloomsLayouts

Here is a list of what I used and the links will take you shopping!

Beautiful day with the windows open ...

What are you working on today? We are having awesome weather here in Michigan. We've been here 14 years and love the weather. The birds are singing, sun is shining and a cool breeze coming through the open windows. I sat down with the Citrus Blooms Bundle and began working on the elements for another page for our Disney World scrapbook album of our latest trip "Home". Alcohol markers are so fun with this set. Take a peek at this bundle if you don't have it. And, a huge thank you to everyone that follows me here and on my Blog. I so appreciate each of you. Cutting and Assembly for April 2024 Sales Challenge Project ...

As promised, here is the cutting information as well as assembly.  The information provided is for colors used with what is shown in the image.  Make it your own and change it up.  Different inks, DSP and die cuts.  If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Card #1 (left) 3-1/2" x 5"

Basic White card base 7" x 5" (score at 3-1/2")

Basic White Cardstock 3" x 2"

DSP or CS Top strip 2-1/2" x 1"

DSP or CS Middle strip 3" x 1"

DSP or CS Bottom strip 2" x 1"

DSP (for die cut design) 3" x 5"

1. Score the Basic White Cardstock at 3-1/2" and fold it in half to create the card base.

2. Adhere the three strips of DSP or CS to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Spacing is your choice - nothing is set.

3. Die cut the large floral image or some "sprigs" as I did from the 3" x 5" DSP using the Thoughtful Wishes or Die of your choice.  Adhere to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Set it aside to dry. (I used a couple pieces of double-sided Adhesive Sheets https://bit.ly/3Yq1NDB placed on the DSP before die cutting on another card, but on this one I used Mini Glue Dots https://bit.ly/3xQqWwl in the middle only as this will be hidden under the sentiment.

4. I stamped the sentiment on Basic White Cardstock in Gray Granite and created the label using the Labeled with Love Punch.  Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

5. Apply embellishments to finish.  I used Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Card #2 (right) 4-¼" x 5-½"

Color of your choice ~ Cardstock card base 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (score at 4-1/4")

Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4" x 3-1/4"

Basic White Cardstock 4-1/4" x 1"

Basic White Cardstock 4" x 4"

DSP 3" x 2" (you need 3)

1. Score the Cardstock (of your choice) at 4-1/4" and fold it in half to create the card base. I used Painted Texture embossing folder.

2. Create three labels from the three pieces of DSP or CS of your choice using the Labeled with Love Punch or Die or choose your own, then cut the labels in half.

3. On the 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" Basic White Cardstock panel, I embossed using Timeworn Type (retired) but you can emboss if you like with whatever you have.

4. I then adhered three label halves along the top of the panel (I placed the middle 1st) and the other three along the bottom using Stampin’ Dimensionals. There should be a small space between each set of label halves - maybe ¼" or so.

4. Die cut two flower images (I used sprigs) from the 4" x 4" Basic White Cardstock piece using the Thoughtful Wishes Dies or Dies of your choice. Trim the die-cut images at the bottom ends if they are too long for your placement, then adhere them to the Basic White Cardstock panel in the space between the label halves using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The bottom of the die cut images will be hidden under sentiment after being shortened, if yours are too long.

5. I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock on the 4-1/4" x 1" Basic White Cardstock. Adhere to the Basic White Cardstock panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

6. Adhere the 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" Basic White Cardstock panel to the card base slightly higher than center using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  If you prefer centered, that works too.

7.Apply a few Embellishments/Gems and you are finished.

Gift Bag (middle) 4" x 5" x 1"

(The DSP I used was striped on 1 side and floral on the other per my references below).

1. Cut the DSP of your choice at 10-1/2" x 6".

2. Turn the paper over so the opposite print (mine is floral) is facing up. Score at 1/2", 1", 1-1/2", 5-1/2", 6", and 6-1/2".

3. Turn the paper over again so the striped print (or whatever yours might be) is facing up and rotate it so the stripes are horizontal. Score at 1".

4. Cut at an angle to create wedges on both sides of the 1/2" vertical score line and at the 1-1/2" vertical score line, stopping at the 1" horizontal score line. Repeat at the 5-1/2", and 6-1/2" vertical score lines. (see images below)

5. Fold along the score lines.

6. Assemble the bag and adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (or adhesive of your choice but a glue is preferred). Set aside to dry.

7. I then created the label from Basic White Cardstock using the Labeled with Love Punch or Die.

8. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy on label. I adhered the label to bag using Stampin' Dimensionals.

9. I tied the Iridescent Striped Trim around the top of the bag securing with a couple of mini glue dots on the back of the bag.  You can embellish if you like.

Here is a reference for score lines and the snip areas for putting the gift bag together.  Please note when scoring to move cardstock from right to left.  Don't use the 1" and 1-½" marks on the right of scoring blade.  That will mess you up - speaking from experience more than once LOL!  I did use the Stampin' Up!™ paper trimmer https://bit.ly/3yYNv1X which is what I am referencing on the use above.

I hope these images help with the scoring and snipping for the gift bag.

While I know this post and the one from yesterday are quite long they do cover 3 different projects.  I hope you will give 1, 2 or all of them a try.  If you do, please share over on my Facebook page with #FunChallengeWithTina as I would love to see yours!

April 2024 Sales Challenge Projects ...

This past April Stampin Up! had an event for Demonstrators to "better their best"!  We were to beat our April 2023 sales total and we would be gifted package of DSP, "Countryside Rose".  This exclusive DSP will not be released for sale.  There would also be a private Facebook "party" event for those that reached this goal.

True to the name of this DSP "Countryside Rose", the papers were very "rosey" in color.  The patterns match "Countryside Inn", so if you have that you have the same but themed in blue.

I followed the event on Facebook creating along with the presenters and here is what was made.  I made some "alterations" as the card bases were plain from the event.

Products used for the event samples are:

Info on the email notifications of new posts confirmation ...

Hi everyone,

Just a short mention that when you subscribe for email notifications of new posts you will receive from follow.it and email to confirm your request.  This email from them may end up in your Spam/Junk folder so wanted to alert you to look for it.  They do send that email confirmation quite fast whereas the notifications of new posts will take 4 - 5 hours until notifications are sent.  Once I have more people following that time frame will decrease and notification sent from follow.it much sooner.

I used one of my "alias" emails to show what the email from follow.it to confirm subscription will look like.  This is a partial screenshot as the rest had links that were specific to my email address.

Please message me if you have any questions 😊

Good Monday morning ...

Ahhhh - HA! Doing some further testing on the Subscribe button ...

Hi and thank you for being so patient.  The Subscribe button does work and you will receive an email alert for new postings.  However, the company and Martin are working with me on a glitch as I have it set up so you would only receive the email notification and the title of the new Blog posting.  Currently, it seems to be sending the entire Blog post in the email instead of just the title.

Have an awesome Sunday and be creative!

Tina  🌻

You can now get email notifications ...

Our testing has finished and the notifications of new posts is working.  You will see the box to the right of this post ... well a little ways down also, to enter your email address to be notified of new postings.

The notification does take about 4-5 hours from posting for emails to be sent via "follow.it"!

Doing a lot of HTML code testing today ...

Working on some coding and adding gadgets today so if you happen to read this please know it is not a regular post LOL - but using for testing.

What we have found out so far:

I am using follow.it instructions.  I now have a subscribe box on the right hand side where you can enter your email address.

Martin and I are currently testing the capabilities of follow.it for email notification of new posts.

Using the basic plan, it takes 4 to 6 hours to receive an email notification after I have created and posted a new post.  Since this is being posted around 2:30 EST, the 2 of use will monitor our email and see if we have received notification during their alloted time frame for my plan.

Please be patient with me if you are subscribing to receive email notifications as this is a work in progress for me today ( with Martin's help)!

More info will be added when things happen.  I am hoping this works LOL!

Thanks,

Tina  🌻
