Hello Spring ...

I used the current Paper Pumpkin kit, Daisy Daydream on this 1 page layout.  I also used the quarterly add on dies for the smaller bees and honeycomb.  I gutted the DSP to save a good sized piece.  I don't like wasting DSP with it just being behind another layer. Here is my finished layout.

This was basically an easy design.  The work went into stamping and embellishing.  I didn't have Crushed Curry CS so had to improvise to be able to use the bees.  I also wanted to use the quarterly add on dies for the honeycomb as well.  I took a piece of white shimmer cs and a small blending brush.  With the blending brush decently saturated with Crushed Curry ink I went over the white shimmer cs and made my own Crushed Curry shimmer cs.  I did the same for black to use on the bees that I made with the add on dies.  The Crushed Curry parts of my black bees are individually glued into the 3 open spaces leaving the wings clear.  I did the same with the Crushed Curry shimmer bees adding the 3 black shimmer pieces cut from the add on dies. I show this in an image below.  I must have been crazy at the time!!

The "daisies" in the kit are very white with a little shadowing.  I used a dauber and Crushed Curry to very lightly add a little color to the petals and also the edges.

Honeycomb is stamped with Crushed Curry and VersaMark and heat embossed with WOW Clear Embossing Powder.

Edges of White Willow CS behind picture and journal card are inked on edges with Crushed Curry.

Here is a collection of what I did to gut the DSP and place the parts on the bees.

Top 2 are what I did to gut the DSP.  I measured what I wanted left for edges and used the Paper Trimmer after lightly drawing lines to have a cut guide.  I did this on the backside of the DSP but when done very lightly with pencil it erases easily so can do on the front side of DSP if preferred.

Here is the sketch!

If you give this a try I would love to see your completed layout.  I would love to post it as a primary post to my Facebook page if you like.  Just send me an email or comment below and I will get in touch with you.  If you don't want to do that feel free to post in comments where you see my main picture of this "Hello Spring" layout.

Impressions Abloom ...

I love this new "Online Exclusives" bundle, Impressions Abloom that will be dropping soon.  I do not have this set in the products used list at the bottom of the post as it is not yet available to order.  I received this bundle at our annual OnStage Convention a couple weeks ago.  I keep thinking I have enough flowers BUT I really love this bundle.  More when it becomes available to order.

Before convention hubby and I took a mini vacation meaning - he drove and we took a couple extra days to visit Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.  Here is one of the pages I finished using Impressions Abloom Bundle.

The flowers are done with watercolor pencils after stamping with Stazon Jet Black onto Fluid 100 CS.  I also used from stash Rangers Glossy Accents for the centers after watercoloring them.

The circles and the bottom strip are embossed and then sanded to bring out the white core center of the CS.  I also used my Snips to rough the edges of the circles and the bottom strip.  Some edges have been inked but decided not to ink all the edges.  Where I inked I used a dauber and also on the 4 sides of the White Willow layout base.

Here is the sketch with measurements and those shown are for my pictures.

I am also including the product list of what I used for this layout below.  Please let me know in the comments or using the Contact Me option to the right if you have any questions.

Personal Inventory For Sale ...

I am currently working on cataloging with images and description various stamp sets, dies, bundles, embellishments etc from my personal stash to make room for new.  The items will be new and gently used.  I clean all my stamps immediately after each stamp and as you know some will have slight staining which is normal for photopolymer stamps.

Being a demonstrator this is part of the job and if I didn't do this I would probably need the entire top floor of my house instead of having taken over the master bedroom for my craft room!

After I have completed my catalog I will be posting a link on the right side of this blog perhaps titled "My Personal Inventory Sale" with a clickable button.  That clickable button will take you to the PDF which will have pictures and description.

I will post when completed and I will have Stampin' Up!™ items as well as Close To My Heart.

Thank you for your patience on this and am excited to get this task going.

Happy creating,

EDIT:

I have added several Stampin' Up!™ stamp sets and you can access them by clicking the link at the TOP of the blog titled: Personal Inventory For Sale.  See image below for the placement.

I will be adding embellishments and also some Close To My Heart items I have on hand from when I was purchasing items geared toward scrapbooking from that company.

Secret Garden 2 Page Layout ...

Completed my 2 page layout using Secret Garden Workshop.  Since I have already posted the left page of this 2 page layout individually I am posting the right page and also the 2 pages together.  While this workshop is branded Close To My Heart is was brought over when Close To My Heart closed summer 2024.  So, I feel it is as Stampin' Up!™ product and is sold in the online store.

I used the same products as I used for the left page.  On this right page I did use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals for the top left picture as well as the main large flower top center.

My photos are all 3-½"x3-½" and the mats are all 4"x4".  I embossed with the new Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder and don't let the name fool you.  The folder itself is 6"x6".  The corrugated look is narrow "impressions" instead of a wider "impression".  I have used this folder for many projects.  Uses are endless.

The edges of the 4"x4" mats are all inked with Night of Navy using a finer dauber.

The title was made using Alphabet ala Mode dies which also are used endlessly.  I used Cajun Craze 8-½"x11" CS for the letter and the Mini Stampin' Cut Embossing Machine.  This little machine is what I use 95% of the time as so many dies fit it.

All flowers (not the leaves) are brushed with Wink of Stella.  No surprise there, right?

Mats: 4"x4"
Strips: 1-¾"x11 (5 various)
Middle strip borders: 1-½"x11 (2 solid cs)

The reason I have the 2 solid strip is that I cut 5 strips and wanted to break up the DSP.  The recipe for the workshop does have 6 strips at 1-¾"x11 so you may want to do it that way if you make this layout.

Placement is ⅜" from top & bottom of Very Vanilla page base & ⅝" in from the sides.  The strips are placed ⅝" apart from each other.

Below is the 2 page layout.  I did modify the left page by adding the 2 flowers and leaves to the right of my convention supply list.

Please let me now if you have any questions.  You are able to comment below and will see a pop up window for commenting.  Or, on the right you will see a Contact Me box which will come right to my email as well as can private message me via FB.

I hope you are creating awesome layouts or cards or even 3-D paper projects.  As always would love to see and for you to share if you like.

Happy creating,

** Please note the price for the Secret Garden Scrapbooking Workshop is not what is showing under the clickable link below.  It is on sale HALF PRICE at $54 and you get a huge bundle of product.
