Shopping Last Chance ...

We all love Last Chance and the discounts most items have.  But, for the most part the Bundles and Suites are usually not discounted.  Let's use Bundles as an example.  Most of the time you can purchase the Bundle or the stamp and dies separately.  And the stamp and/or dies may be marked down.

If that were to be the case for a Bundle you want to purchase from Last Chance, please look for the stamp set and the dies individually and purchase them as 2 individual items and NOT as the Bundle.

Enter the name of the Bundle or set you would like in the search bar and the products available will show.

Currently Heart of Elegance is in Last Chance.  You CAN purchase the Bundle for $50.25 and it is not marked down.

BUT the Stamp Set IS marked down for $16.00 from $20.00 and the Dies are marked down for $28.80 from $36.00!  This would give you a savings of $5.45 over purchasing the same items as a "Bundle".

While it is not a huge difference, I believe every little bit helps and also - why would you want to pay more to receive the exact same 2 items that you can order individually and save a little?

I want to be totally transparent with you as I have said in the past and always will be.  I love crafting, scrapbooking/memory keeping and card making and want to share that joy with you.  If I can help you along your journey and help save YOU even a few $$$'s then I am happy.  It is about the love of crafting and YOU whether you are a friend, customer or a friend that is a customer!

Happy creating,

Scrapbooking (Memory Keeping) Workshop Issues ...

The information posted here is rather lengthy and didn't want to post all of this on my Facebook page.

There are issues with 2 of the Workshops I have worked with and 1 was originally brought to my attention by a friend.  I want to always be completely transparent with you bringing information, ideas and knowledge here the best I can.  So, here goes.

Today I sent another email to Demonstrator Support concerning the matter of incorrect information on at least 2 of the Workshop Guides.

Memories In Bloom Scrapbooking Workshop has the following issues.

Layout #1:

All of the pieces have been cut to the exact measurements noted in the cutting guide.  I asked my husband to go over the guide and my cut pieces to make sure I didn't make and cut errors.  The cuts were exact per the guide.  I placed the cut pieces on the main DSP base page according to the measurements for placement in the guide.  Yet, there is not enough left-over base DSP at the bottom after placing a photo mat where they want it placed.  This is the same for Layout #1 Right Page.  It seems either 1 or more of the cut measurements are wrong or placement per guide is wrong.  Also, there is a piece of DSP showing on the cover of the guide that does not have a cut measurement nor is there notation of placing this piece of DSP on the layout.  Strange.  I am attaching a photo to show this better keeping in mind I did not place the Petunia Pop photo mat on this photo as I don't cut the photo mats per guide.  My photos are always of different sizes.

Also, there is a piece of DSP (green with oval "dots") showing on Layout #1 Left and Right pages that does not have cutting measurements - it is not even showing on the guide.  And, there is not a notation for placement of this piece within the guide.  You can see this issue in the photo below with red arrows.

Wildflower Birthday Scrapbooking Workshop:

This one is pretty simple.  Apparently when the guide was generated the cut measurements were reversed.  Please see the photo below for corrections.

I have brought this to the attention of our Demonstrator Support Department and was asked to also send a detailed email which I have done on these issues.  I will keep this situation updated here and a notification on my Facebook page when I have an update.

If you have noticed any issues with other cutting guides, please let me know ASAP.  I hope to get into several more I have over this weekend to see if I spot any other issues.  My fingers are crossed that this is it but ...... I will let you know.

Questions?  Post them below for comment or reach out to me via the Contact Me option on the right or shoot me a DM or email.

Happy creating,

Let's use Black & White ...

I wanted to "fancy up" some cards and I love using Black & White.   While perhaps not the "norm" for a birthday I thought it made it a bit more elegant and "out of the norm".

The card is on standard card base of 4-¼" x 5-½" folded
Mat 1: 3-¾" x 5"
Mat 2: 3" x 4-¼"

Using Botanical Textures DSP for Mat 1 was a toss-up between the 2 sides.  After choosing the side I then spritzed the DSP on both sides with water and crumpled into a wad.

Next, I carefully opened to lay on my glass mat and to speed up things I used the low setting on my heat tool to dry.  Keep in mind this method gives your DSP a "rumpled" look so it does not lay completely flat.

I then took my Snips and distressed the edges.  I applied glue and placed on my card base.  I also placed a slightly heavy object (my large tape dispenser) on top to help the glue adhere.

I heat foiled a musical note design I have from Silhouette Design Store using We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill system, their heat activated foil & my Cameo 4.  I then adhered to layer 1. This kind of made me think of singing Happy Birthday!!

Happiest Birthday is from Round We Go Photopolymer Stamp set & was stamped with VersaMark ink after using an Embossing Buddy.  I then poured the Black WOW embossing powder over the stamped image and heat embossed.  Edges are linked with Basic Gray using a sponge dauber as is the musical note layer 2.

A little side note on using embossing powder.  I have tried everything out there to "catch" the left over embossing powder.  Paper plates, the tray made for this and some other things.  I have found a round coffee filter works best for me.  I buy the kind that fit into the basket type coffee machines.

I adhered the gold ribbon and placed Happiest Birthday over the ribbon with a piece looped to the back with Dimensionals.

Products I used are listed at the bottom.  If you make the card or use this DSP in any project, please post it under the post I made in my Facebook Group with this card OR shoot me an email / message with your photo and what you would like me to post for description and I will do that.  I love making your projects a main post on my social media page.

Happy creating,

Halloween Memories 6 page Scrapbooking Workshop with a Twist ...

I used Halloween Memories Scrapbooking Workshop for our 2023 Halloween photos.  Yes, this was October 31, 2023!

1st two-page layout: Changes I made from the original layout instructions are different sized photos so I never cut the photo mats from the original instructions on any workshop I make.

#1 - two-page layout below.  I created these as the directions indicated although I did use my Silhouette Cameo for the title, faux stitching, journaling and webs.  I purchased the Workshop items individually so did not have the stickers.  I also decided concerning the faux stitching that I would do that closer to the edge than directly around the centerpiece as the original instructions indicated.

* Base:12" x 12" White Willow x 2
* Centerpiece 9" x 9" x 2
* Small "pennant" pieces are 1-½" x 3" (cut 3 left page)
* Small "pennant" pieces are ½" x 2-½" (cut 2 right page)
* Cut photo mats to size needed for your photos & journal to the size you need.
I also did a little inking on the edges of journal (date) and the photo tags with Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Pad.
*Embellishment of choice

#2 - two-page layout below.  Again, following the Workshop directions per measurement of key pieces but used my Silhouette Cameo for the die cuts and all journaling.  The Workshop came with exclusive grid paper which also has a black border around 3 sides of the grid paper pattern.   I didn't have this due to purchasing product individually.  I solved this problem by taking a piece of grid paper on hand and cutting to the instruction measurements.  Therefore, I did not gut black CS to make that black border as the original has.

* Use 12" x 12" White Willow CS and with a ruler draw your grid or just go with it plain x 2
* Left & right pieces are 3" x 12" x 2
* Cut photo mats to size needed for your photos & journal to the size you need.
I also did a little inking on the edges of journaling (date) and the photo tags with Secret Sea Classic Stampin' Pad.
* Embellishments of choice

#3 - two-page layout below.

* Use 12" x 12" diagonal striped Pool Party for left page
* Cut 2nd 12" x 12" piece of diagonal striped Pool party to 6" x 12"
* Cut White Willow 12" x 12" to 6" x 7-½" left page
* Cut Blackk & White strip 7" x 5" left page
* Cut strips for pennants, ½" x 3" twice & ½" x 2-½" once (I used all ½" x 2-½")
* Cut photo mats to size needed for your photos & journal to the size you need.
I also did a little inking on the edges of journaling (date) and the photo tags with Secret Sea Classic Stampin' Pad.
* Embellishments of choice
* I cut my bats 😀 with my Silhouette Cameo as well as Halloween Memories, the faux stitching on right page which includes at the top and the curve on the Pool Party diagonal stripe & all journaling

If you would like the actual instructions for these 3 two-page layouts please use the Contact Me option located in the right panel of this blog.

While it might seem odd that I used a Halloween theme it is for a very good reason.  Halloween day 2023 we woke up to flurries.  As the photo shows in #1 left page, I was crafting in my craft room watching those flurries.  It wasn't long before the snow was falling so much, I couldn't see the house across the street.  Within 2 hours my hubby was out with our snowblower.  And, before the day was done, he used that a couple more times, the beautiful tree in the corner of my front yard and visible to me in my craft room had its branches bent over in half.  Add to that before dinner we had lost power due to icy wires and trees falling on them.

Yes, this was our Halloween for 2023 so it did need to be put in our album with a theme fitting for the day - HALLOWEEN!

As always, I would love to post in my Facebook Group if you create anything with this Scrapbooking Workshop OR the DSP.  Just Contact Me with that link in the right panel of this blog OR email me with the photo and whatever you would like said about your design.  I am still trying to figure out how to allow you to post yourself as a main post.  I read I can do that but not finding the setting and have been told by a FB Guru that it is not possible on a "Page" any longer with Facebook.  I am determined to find a way.
